Scrivens Opticians are currently selecting pre-registration Optometrists for 2011/12.

We are looking for clinical skills and abilities, as well as the personal qualities required to facilitate a smooth transition from university to branch life and for success in your OSCEs.

The pre-registration year at Scrivens is busy and varied and normally involves:

Spending three days a week in the practice examining eyes and dispensing.
One day supervised contact lens fitting.
Work experience at a local hospital once a week.

You will be provided with:

Your own consulting room and access to a full range of equipment.
A full program of courses and tutorials to cover all aspects of the OSCEs plus mock exams.

Other benefits include:

A job offer once you have successfully completed your OSCEs
A CET program of accredited lectures and seminars, peer review meetings, and further career development opportunities.

The pre-registration year at Scrivens Opticians is all about helping you develop your skills as a professional Optometrist. In addition, through working as part of an effective branch team, you will rapidly develop your communication and interpersonal skills to the full. Therefore although your pre-registration time with Scrivens Opticians will be demanding, we will work very hard to make it rewarding and enjoyable as well.
