Eligibility for NHS Examination
You may have your eye examination paid for by the NHS if, at the time of the test you are:

A child up to 16 years old
16, 17, 18 yrs old in Full Time Education
Over 60

You or your partner receives:
Income support
Income based Jobseekers allowance
Working families Tax Credit Exemption
Disabled Persons Tax Credit Exemption
Pensioners Tax Credit Exemption
A valid HC2 certificate
Diagnosed Diabetic (they may need a special appointments slot as they need extra tests done)
Glaucoma sufferer
Considered to be at risk of Glaucoma by a Hospital Ophthalmologist
Over 40 and the Parent/Sister/Brother/Child of a person who has or had Glaucoma
Prescribed complex lenses under the NHS
Registered partially sighted
