Making the right decision
Once you have chosen your new frames it’s then time to choose your lenses. Selecting the right lenses is vital to making your glasses look and feel great as well as achieving optimum performance.
This guide is designed to explain the options available and help you make the right decision.
Expert staff
Our highly trained staff will help you decide which lenses are best for you and explain all the available options.
Latest technology
Our automated dispensing system ‘LINDA’ will guide you through all the available lens options and recommend lenses that best suit your prescription and lifestyle requirements as well as your budget.
Thin and light
High index lenses are thinner and lighter than standard lenses, giving a better look and feel, and are ideal for higher prescriptions and rimless frames.
Anti reflection coating
An anti reflection coating reduces glare and is particularly effective at night and while driving. An AR coating also allows other people to see your eyes rather than reflected light.
Transitions lenses
Transitions lenses are clear lenses that automatically adjust to changing light and help protect your eyes from glare and UV light.
Prescription sunglasses lenses
Prescription sunglasses lenses offer the same correction as standard lenses and have a coloured tint and UV filter to protect your eyes from the sun.
Varifocal lenses
Varifocal (or multifocal) lenses have multiple focus points to correct vision at various distances. Varifocals are used for correcting both distance and reading prescriptions in a single lens and have no visible dividing line between the different corrections. These are ideal for people who need glasses for reading and distance.
Bifocal lenses
Bifocal lenses are used to correct two specific distances, one long and one short, with a distinct dividing line between the two parts.
Single vision lenses
Single vision lenses are used to correct either short sight or long sight.
